About Barbara
Barbara McHardy née deCaux, having finished art college spent some time living and painting in Greece and France. On her return she married and has lived on the Black Isle for the last fifty years.
Before taking up employment as a teacher in Inverness she ran a pottery in Dingwall for six years. She taught art for 22 years in Inverness and with her husband brought up her family in Jemimaville, which is five miles west of Cromarty on the shores of the Cromarty Firth.
Hundreds of her pictures adorn the walls of people in the Black Isle, Inverness and way beyond. In retirement she spends her time painting, mainly local scenes around Cromarty and the Black Isle.
She has a small private gallery in a mature garden behind her home in Jemimaville where original paintings, oil and watercolours can be seen by appointment.
